Email support opens your email app. If nothing opens, copy the address into the email service you use. Include your device model, app version and the steps that led to the issue.
Free trial and lifetime access
Download TradeCalc free, then choose “Start 7-day free trial” on the access screen. Every tool is included for seven days. The trial does not renew and no payment is taken automatically. Choose Lifetime Unlock to keep using the tools for $4.99 once in the U.S.; Apple shows your local price before you confirm.
Existing paid customers keep full access at no extra cost. In Settings → Trial & lifetime access, choose Restore purchases with the Apple Account used for your original download or purchase. Restoring or reinstalling does not restart the trial. Internet is needed to start a trial, purchase, or restore access. Calculations work offline after access is verified.
If the trial has ended, your saved work remains on your device. Use the access screen’s export option to prepare a complete workshop backup. You can also get support without purchasing.
Enter feet and inches
Use a space between whole inches and a fraction: 5′ 7 1/2″. Include units when mixing feet, inches and metric. Add matching dimensions; multiply lengths to calculate area.
Try a Field Guide example
Open the Field Guide and tap an example. TradeCalc opens its calculator with the sample values filled in. Edit a measurement to try your own job.
Undo and redo
In Calculate, Undo steps back through your edits and Redo restores them. Live measurement controls and the photo editor also provide Undo and Redo for their changes. Clear can be undone too. If you start typing after Undo, the previous redo steps are replaced by your new edit.
Hide the keyboard
Tap outside the text field or use the keyboard’s hide button to see more of the calculation. Tap a field to start entering measurements again.
Show or hide material prices
In Settings, use Show material pricing to control supplier-price fields and cost results across all 12 supported material and framing tools. Turn it off for quantity-only work; your prices remain saved. Paint compares whole one-gallon cans and five-gallon pails as separate purchase options. Concrete keeps bagged and ready-mix costs separate.
Use the iPad workspace
Wider windows place diagrams beside inputs, the calculator beside its tape, and cut plans beside stock inputs. Rotate or resize your window to fit your task. Smaller windows and larger accessibility text use one column. On iPadOS 18 and later, use the adaptable navigation to switch between tabs and a sidebar; iPadOS 17 uses tabs.
Check off layout measurements
Open Marking view from a calculation. Each card gives a measurement at a numbered position. Tap anywhere on a card after you mark that position on your material; tap again to uncheck it. The counter shows your progress. Checkmarks reset when you leave the view.
Keep the screen awake
The sun button in Marking view keeps the screen on for ten minutes. “Screen stays on” confirms it is enabled. Tap the sun again to stop. It also stops when you leave the app and does not change screen brightness.
Attach and mark up a photo
- Save a layout, or open one in Workshop.
- In Photos, add an image and tap its thumbnail.
- Choose Arrow and drag, or choose Label and tap. Use a calculated value or type a label.
- Tap Done to keep your changes. Switch to View to inspect or zoom.
Back up your workshop
In Settings, choose Prepare backup, then Export complete workshop. Save the file somewhere you can find again. Import backup merges saved work. Complete backups include attached files up to a combined 64 MB.
Share a PDF
Open a saved calculation and choose Create PDF. Use Include photos in PDF to control photo pages. Then choose Share PDF.
If a result looks wrong
Check the input units, measurement references, percentage mode and rounding setting. Keep the exact inputs and expected result with any report. Remove private job details before sharing a screenshot.
Device requirements
iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. Core calculations and saved work operate offline after trial or lifetime access is verified. Camera capture requires a device with a camera and your permission.
